Mr. Schultz was born November 29, 1965, in Long Beach, California.  In 1987, Mr. Schultz received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Mr. Schultz received a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola of Los Angeles Law School in 1990.  While at Loyola, he was on the Dean's Honors List. He also received a scholarship for outstanding academic achievement and an American Jurisprudence Award in Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Schultz joined the firm in 1990. He was elected a director in 1998 and a shareholder in 2002.  Mr. Schultz's main areas of practice are product liability, general liability and appeals. He has litigated numerous high exposure cases involving a wide range of claims, including actions for product liability, toxic torts, business torts, premises liability, bad faith and general negligence. Mr. Schultz has extensive experience in all phases of litigation practice, from initial case handling through trial and appeal, in both state and federal courts. Mr. Schultz also has extensive experience in all aspects of appellate practice.  He has successfully briefed, argued and handled appeals and writs in California, Arizona and Nevada. He has obtained reversals of multi-million dollar jury verdicts with judgments notwithstanding the verdict entered in favor of his clients, as well as affirmance of judgments entered in favor of his clients after jury verdicts, directed verdicts, nonsuits, summary judgments, demurrers and motions for terminating sanctions. His published decisions include the following cases:  General Motors Corporation v. Superior Court of San Bernardino County, 12 Cal.App.4th 435 (1993); Darden v. General Motors Corporation, 40 Cal.App.4th 349 (1995); General Motors Corporation v. Superior Court of Los Angeles, 48 Cal.App.4th 580 (1996);  Scheiding v. General Motors Corporation, 22 Cal.4th 471 (2000); Southwest Pet Products v. Koch Industries, 89 F.Supp.2d 1115 (2000); Dannenfelser v. DaimlerChrysler Corp., (D. Haw. 2005) 370 F. Supp.2d 1091.  Some recent unpublished appellate matters that have been successfully handled by Mr. Schultz, which have been reported in Lexis, include: Genson v. Legal Options, 2005 Cal.App.Unpub. Lexis 4952; Dozier v. Bridgestone/Firestone North America, 2004 Cal.App.Unpub. Lexis 187; Illinois Tool Works v. Fallin, 2002 Cal.App.Unpub. Lexis 8867; and Smith v. Fox Hills Buick, 2001 Cal.App.Unpub. Lexis 1234.

Mr. Schultz was admitted to the California Bar in 1990. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California.  He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
